Custom Snowflake Background

November 12, 2017 0 Comments

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a card and a video with a winter theme using the Snowflake Whispers and Cool Buddies stamp sets. I love the beautiful snowflakes from Snowflake Whispers and I love creating a custom background. So I decided to layer the snowflakes using some Distress Oxide inks. You can get more details in the video:

Distress Oxide inks give great crisp impressions even on detailed images like these snowflakes. I added the fox from Cool Buddies because I knew the orange fox would really pop off the blue monochromatic card.

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm here as part of Create a Smile's Comeback Party Video Hop. This video hop celebrates the first release from Create a Smile Stamps in quite a few months and there is a big celebration. There is a digital freebie, free gifts with purchase and a contest. Be sure to check it out on their blog. For my card today I used the new set Clear Lights On and stamped the lanterns on tissue paper to mimic paper lanterns. There are a lot of talented and amaxing crafters on this hop. Find links to all of them below my video.

Coffee Themed Card with Distress Oxide Inks for Create a Smile Stamps

Coffee Themed Card by Jess Gerstner with Distress Oxide Inks and Create a Smile Stamps

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a card and a video with a coffee themed card using stamps and a stencil from Create a Smile stamps as well as Distress Oxide inks for the background. Someone asked me if you could cut word stamps with the ScanNCut digital cutting machine and I thought that these stamps from Create a Smile would be a perfect test case. Turns out you can cut out these beautiful script greetings very easily and add great impact to a card. To create the stencil background, I covered my Bristol smooth cardstock with Distress Oxide ink and then 'stamped' it by spritzing it with water and laying in on the card. You can get more details in the video:

If you don't have a digital cutter you can always fussy cut around your images. Also remember to be creative with your stencils. You can do so much more than put ink through them.
